Erick Zulch Bio

Erick Zulch is a young South African artist based in Stellenbosch. His main focus is on writing raw and real original music.

Erick's current influences while writing, producing and recording, come from artists such as John Mayer, Gary Clarke Jr. and Southern Wild. While searching for a unique sound and style, Erick tries to combine classic elements found in Blues, Jazz, R&B, Funk and Rock to produce a fresh, authentic sound.

He has been performing with the local punkrock band ‘Zengeance’ from an early age and has explored the music scene by playing at various venues and festivals. As the lead vocalist and guitarist of Zengeance, Erick has been the supporting act for artists such as Albert Frost, Mark Haze, Piet Botha, Crimson House etc.

Erick has played at venues and festivals such as Up The Creek, Malkop Festival, Zeegunst, Aandklas Stellenbosch, Backsberg Summer Concerts, Hillcrest Quarry and Aces ‘n Spades Bar.

Zengeance has released an EP and a debut album, which was produced by the SAMA award winner and South African Blues legend, Albert Frost.

Erick has just released his first solo EP on all major platforms.

Carlo De Villiers is a talented musician, known for his funky drumming style and sleek keys. He also partakes in various projects as producer, sound engineer and is occasionally the IT guy. When Carlo is not busy with his music, he is focusing on obtaining his degree in Computer Science.
Carlo has been inspired by the music of various artists, such as Grey, Prime Circle, Nothing But Thieves, Alter Bridge etc.
He states that his “favourite part of music is the creation process”.

Wian Brand is known to many as hilarious, creative and an out-of-the-box-thinker. His saucy bass skills come from years of gaming, playing poker and indulging in awkward social situations.
Wian always has a big influence on the band's creative process and loves to express himself in his tasty basslines. He has been mostly influenced by Muse, The Beatles and Radiohead.
He is famous for coining the phrase, “When in doubt, pull out.”

Daneel Wasserfall is a renowned song-writer and guitarist, who is known for his smooth licks and smokey vocals. He loves every part of music - from writing and production to recording and performing.
When he is not jamming, drinking coffee or partaking in social activities, he is studying for a degree in Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch.
Daneel has been influenced by bands such as Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. His more recent inspiration comes from bands such as Nothing But Thieves, Alter Bridge and John Mayer.
Daneel’s most commonly used phrase: “Dis nou maar een van daai dinge” (It’s just one of those things).
